The city centre boasts a good range of shops,supermarkets, bars and restaurants. It has a lovely setting with the spire of the cathedral crowning the hilltop. The cathedral is world famous for its 12th century carved west front and capitols.

The city has a good transport infrastructure and enjoys excellent health and fitness facilties. The city boasts the excellent Museum Rolin,with art from the 12-20th century.The city is an important tourist destination.
